Lines & Dots

This is kind of an odd combination but it works I think.  I love, love, love these shorts that I bought last year in France.  I often have trouble figuring out what to pair them with.
The Arts Festival is this weekend, which I was pretty excited for, but turns out I won't be attending.  I will be in Montana (which is equally exciting).  I will finally have the opportunity to wear the Acne dress I purchased in NYC.  I am definitely looking forward to that.

Casual Thursday

I wore this dress last in the winer, so I was happy to pull it out again in nice weather.  I found it on sale last year at Q Clothing downtown.  I have been on a mission to try to find more boutiques around the city, because I think they are more fun to shop at then big malls.  Last night I went to dinner in Park City (I haven't been up there forever) and it looked like there might be some fun window shopping to be had...

Simply Simplicity

This is the dress that I was so excited to find, here. I paired it with a belt to give it a little more shape, I like it with out a belt too though.

The pasta is my absolute favorite dish ever, which I thought I would share with you.  It is the best fresh pasts dish for summer.  I don't have a recipe, because I kind of just make it up as I go.

You will need:
7 small heirloom tomatoes
Lots of basil (to taste)
1 pound of mozzarella
Olive Oil (to taste)
7 to 14 Garlic Cloves (I like 14!)
Pasta
Pepper (to taste)

Chop up tomatoes, garlic, mozzarella, and basil (I like to rip the basil with my hands) in a large bowl.  Drizzle olive oil over the top.  Mix in some pepper. Let sit covered for about 2 hours.
After 2 hours, boil pasta and then mix it in with the tomato sauce.  Add fresh mozzarella and basil if desired.
Drink a glass of red wine along side and you are set!
Simple.

Biker Shorts

I love these little short-leggings more then anything.  I discovered them last year in New York and have been obsessed ever since.  They are perfect for summer because you can put them on under a dress, not feel too hot, and not show the world what color underwear you have on.  Simply brilliant.  I wore this dress last with a denim jacket, so I thought I would try something different and go for a light cardigan.
P.S. How do we feel about H&M coming to Fashion Place? I'm not so stoked...

Pumpkin Muffins

I thought these where quite delicious and easy.  I think I am going to try to make them again and instead of using chocolate chips, try putting some walnuts and carrots in the them...

Adapted from the American club, in Kohler, Wisconsin via Gourmet Magazine

1½ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup canned solid-pack pumpkin
1/3 cup vegetable oil
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon pumpkin-pie spice
1¼ cups (plus 1 tablespoon) sugar
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Preheat oven to 350°
Put liners in muffin cups.
Whisk together pumpkin, oil, eggs, pumpkin pie spice, 1 1/4 cups sugar, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl until smooth, then whisk in flour mixture until just combined.
Stir together cinnamon and remaining 1 tablespoon sugar in another bowl.
Divide batter among muffin cups (each should be about three-fourths full), then sprinkle tops with cinnamon-sugar mixture. Bake until puffed and golden brown and wooden pick or skewer inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean, 25 to 30 minutes.
Cool in pan on a rack five minutes, then transfer muffins from pan to rack and cool to warm or room temperature.

I also had some time to go outside this weekend and wear  this new floral blouse from UB.  I got a sunburn  being outside but it was still amazing.

Ahhh the Weekend

I finally bought a pair of white Converse.  I have been craving a pair forever.  I went in to Smiths (my favorite cheap, go-to store for random bits and bobs) and found them on sale!!  Time to put my favorite black bootie heels away, I will be living in these the rest of the summer.
I had the day off from all three of my jobs today (which I found a bit bizarre) so, after attempting my first Zumba class (ohhh my), I went to the park.  It started raining though, so my adventure ended quickly.

Little Bit of This, Little Bit of That

Having some fun playing with color and prints.  It feels a little bright, but I kind of like it, haha! Also, I bought a full on knit, chunky sweater yesterday...does anyone else find that weird?

These are my Crazy Pants

I went thrifting with a friend the other day and he found these awesome pants!  Unfortunately for him and luckily for me, they didn't fit him.  I couldn't let such awesomeness stay buried in the depths of the D.I., so I took them! I think they are pretty fantastic.  They are a little short, but I think rolling them one time works just fine! Oh! And this is one of the tops I bought in NYC as well.  It is silk and wonderful.

Mountainous Mountains

We have actually had a few days of spring here!  It has been wonderful.  Gabi and I took ourselves on a shopping adventure to celebrate.  I bought this lovely little dress as well as some other spring items.  I love how the back of the dress is longer then the front.
Have a lovely weekend everyone!  Now that the semester is done...and I think I graduated kind of...I am planing on having an awesome one.

Some More New York Goodies

Before everyone goes off to start the weekend out right, I thought I would post a quick look with some more of my little achats from New York.  This is the sweater that I bought at Rag&Bone.  I thought it was adorable and I fell in love with the texture.  I think that it is a pretty classic piece.  The cut is simple and stripes are always welcome in my closet.  I also bought these pants at Zara.  I am loving the nude color and how high waisted they are.
Have a lovely weekend everyone.  I hope it is a sunny and warm where you are as it is here.
